The Opportunity: 

Reporting to the Manager for Broker Sales, the Account Manager, Individual is responsible for the management of mutually beneficial relationships between assigned accounts in the Broker distribution network and the Company.  The Account Manager is responsible for achieving set sales quotas as well as Strategic objectives. The Account Manager represents Medavie Blue Cross’ portfolio of Individual products and services from an in-house perspective and is responsible for planning cycles and ensuring that the needs and expectations or their accounts are met, while also supporting the day-to-day activities of our agents.

 

Key Responsibilities:

•    Meet assigned targets for sales volumes and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
•    Monitor and Analyze Sales results, trends, as well as forecasting and provide updates to the management team
•    Foster and maintaining ongoing relationships through regular contact and proactively assessing, clarifying, and validating needs on an ongoing basis
•    Ensure escalated administrative and client issues are resolved to a mutually beneficial conclusion
•    Continuously self-educate on industry developments
•    Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to ensure superior service and product offering to your assigned accounts
•    Present sales and training sessions on a regular basis through phone or web meetings which may touch on, but not limited to, products, sales techniques, technology, compensation programs, service standards and industry developments
•    Encourage agent loyalty by promoting Medavie Blue Cross as the company of choice for health and final expense products
•    Establish productive, professional relationships with key sub-agents and personnel in assigned accounts
•    Assist in supporting the day to day administrative activities of the general agents in satisfying customer needs, as well as, supporting our distribution community from a technology perspective.
•    As needed, managing inquiries via email or phone, including but not limited to complex service inquiries of an urgent nature, coordinating resolution of escalated concerns.

 

Qualifications: 

 

Education:  University degree in business/marketing.
Work Experience:  Minimum of 5 years experience in the insurance or health care industry, with a minimum of 3 years relevant sales experience.  
Other Qualifications:  

  • Active Life and Sickness & Accident Insurance 
  • GBA or CEBS designation and/or other industry courses would be considered assets for this position. 
  • This position requires regular travel (10-20%) to meet with agents/brokers and to attend relationship functions. Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required. 
  • Established network of business connections. 
  • Proven track record in developing, growing, and managing sales accounts

Computer Skills:  Microsoft Office, Email, and Internet applications
Language Skills:  Bilingualism in French and English is required.
