Position Summary

 

This Technical leadership position is reporting to the Manager, IT Service Management.  The role of the Configuration Manager will integrate closely with all other IT Service Management disciplines and supporting technology. This is an opportunity to enhance our operational practices and support flawless execution and develop our DevOps model.

 

Automated tracking and integration with other IT Service Management disciplines will be a key contribution to ensuring the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is a reliable, usable and functional tool within our operating practices

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Process Owner: Design, develop, document and institutionalize the Configuration management Policy, Process and some procedures
  • Recommend robust configuration management procedures and standards.
  • Align configuration management standards with strategic goals, risk, and success factors.
  • Plan, execute, and continuously refine the Configuration Management maturity roadmap as priorities change.
  • Communicate configuration activities to enhance general awareness of processes and standards.
  • Partner with process owners to integrate IT processes to maximize Configuration Management disciplines.
  • Maximize automation and discovery within supporting technologies.
  • Design the solution & technical approach/process flow for Configuration Management data modelling, mapping, loading, configurations customizations.
  • Reconcile the Configuration Management database when exceptions are noted between repositories.

 

Required Qualifications

 

Education: University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science or similar program

 

Eligibility: Due to security clearance, you need to be in Canada for at least 5 years and your current status should be Permanent Residency or Citizenship.

 

Work Experience: Typically, 5+ Years of experience in a relevant capacity

 

Other Qualifications:

 

  • Strong understanding of technical infrastructure and development lifecycle.
  • ITIL v3 or ITIL v4 Foundations Certification or equivalent.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a busy technical environment
  • A high attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
  • Good understanding of software development, build and testing best practices
  • Working knowledge of the environment and tools and technology used by the application and infrastructure area.


Computer Skills: Strong technical aptitude

 

Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required (written & spoken).  Proficiency in French would be an asset.
