 The Opportunity


Human Resources plays an integral role in Medavie’s mission to improve the wellbeing of Canadians. We’re a team of dedicated professionals who offer hands on support while being strategic partners to our business and trusted advisors to our employees. Our team is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner who will translate business needs into HR solutions in areas like organizational design, employee engagement and retention, program development and policy creation.
 
Where you’ll make a difference:
 

  • Business Partnerships: You’ll increase impact and effectiveness of our business growth  by developing stronger partnerships with leaders, using your business acumen to understand their world and support them in developing people strategies. 
  • Employee Relationships: Leaders will seek your advice on subjects like performance, attendance, policy interpretation and legislation. You’ll be a trusted advisor to staff and proactive in identifying trends that can impact the larger Human Resources team
  • Performance Management: Listen to and coach leaders on talent differentiation using all the tools in your toolkit. 
  • Compensation: Provide consulting support to business partners by developing a solid understanding of all compensation programs, benefits and pension plans. Partner with leaders to facilitate the disability claim and return to work/accommodation process.
  • Talent management: Partner with client group(s) and recruitment team with respect to hiring decisions, crafting realistic and comprehensive job descriptions and participating in the interview and onboarding processes for leaders.

 
Required Qualifications:
 

  • Education: Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
  • Work Experience: 10 years’ experience in a human resources generalist role in a corporate environment.
  • Other Qualifications: Certified Professional Human Resources (CPHR) designation considered a strong asset
  • Computer Skills: Work with SAP SuccessFactors would be considered an asset, but all equivalent HRIS experience is considered. 
  • Language Skills: English; French considered an asset
