The Opportunity:

In this fast-paced and team-oriented work environment, the Human Resources and Recruitment Coordinator will receive broad exposure to human resources functions including onboarding and recruitment, benefits and wellness. The Human Resource Department is a multi-disciplinary team of over 25 professionals with a mission to attract, develop and retain passionate, high-performing people to support a client-led culture. As the ideal candidate you are passionate about making a difference and eager to contribute to the overall effectiveness of the Human Resource department.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide recruitment support through the coordination and participation in the recruitment process including: administrative tasks, job postings, short-listing, testing and pre-screening candidates, scheduling interviews and checking references.
  • Represent Medavie Blue Cross to prospective candidates in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Help us identify creative ways to engage untapped talent, including partnering with schools, participating in job fairs on campus and in the community.
  • Utilize our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and other applicant platforms to identify suitable candidates to fill open roles
  • Help us build a vibrant network to ensure a continuous pipeline of top talent through proactive market research and ongoing relationship management.
  • Provide support to the disability management process for our employee’s.
  • Conduct annual benefit audits.
  • Support regional and corporate Wellness Initiatives.
  • Coordinate ergonomic assessments for regional employees.
  • Maintain confidential, accurate and up-to-date employee files both electronically and in paper format.
  • Support to members of the HR team, including generating documentation and updates related to changes in employment status, updates and inquiries related to group benefits for active employees and retirees, as well as assistance on departmental projects as required.



  • Post-secondary education with a degree, diploma or certificate in Human Resources is desired.
  • Completion of the CPHR designation or an interest in obtaining your CPHR designation is considered an asset.  Working towards or completed CPHR designation is an asset.



  • Minimum of one year of related experience in a coordination or generalist function providing support in an HR environment.  
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while maintaining high level of accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Team player with strong customer service, excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Ability to take initiative, anticipate needs and solve problems independently.
  • Proven track record on delivering results, and having the ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment with minimum supervision.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of SAP and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) would be considered an asset.
