The Opportunity:

As the Sales and Service Assistant, you will work closely with the Regional Vice President of Business Development and the sales and service teams. This position requires communication with all stakeholders, attention to detail and the ability to seek solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Regional Vice President of Business Development – managing the logistics of the VP’s calendar and schedule, organize meetings, make travel arrangements; follow up on issues, tasks and assignments; consolidate and prepare documents and presentation materials and screen/respond to incoming routine correspondence, inquiries and phone calls;
  • Manage strategic, confidential and sensitive materials;
  • Assists with planning and organization of regular offsite business meetings and client events, including arrangements with offsite facilities;
  • Provide support to the Sales and Service team members;
  • Manage finalist presentation preparations – this will involve work in Microsoft Word and Excel as well as Powerpoint. This involves the organization of many internal departments to ensure all deadlines are met and also involves all aspects of organizing the external print shop.  This further extends to all lunch and learn and other sales presentations;
  • Assist in organizing sales events such as annual Benefits 3 conference and other sales or broker conferences;
  • Responsible for running complex, customized and scheduled reports for various corporate clients and consultants. Also assist with standard reports. Involves Utilization, Discoverer, Data Warehouse and requires relationship building with the Query Team in Moncton;
  • Manage preparation of all meetings – pre book all facilities and food as required.  Day of meeting ensure all presentations are up and running, technology is working and conference calls are open;
  • Dialogue with our valued associates in client services (Montreal and Moncton) which will also involve dialogue over the phone as well as email;
  • Assist brokerage Account Associate team with management of new sale activities, including:
    • Send out new client welcome emails
    • Schedule new client administration training sessions
    • Arrange for mailing out of various new sale documents
    • Review reporting to ensure deadlines are adhered to
    • Order and ship new sale marketing material 
    • Assist with organizing employee sessions, lunch and learns, client meetings. 
  • Able to think quickly and outside the box in a very fast paced and ever changing challenging environment.







  • Post secondary university or college degree with a focus on business administration


Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years previous experience of Group Insurance and/or administrative role.


Other Qualifications:

  • Insurance-related degree/diploma/designation considered an asset;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills working with various stakeholders;
  • Possess strong analytical and research skills with a high attention to detail;
  • Have excellent reasoning, judgment and decision-making abilities;
  • Excellent time-management skills.


Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office suite of products;  use of databases (Sharepoint)


Language Skills:

  • Bilingual (English/French) are an asset
