Reporting to the Operations Manager, Client Solutions – Support Services, the incumbent is responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team made up of Business Analysts located across our markets.  This highly specialized team works in close collaboration with various functional business units and IT colleagues to deliver lifecycle solutions to the evolving operational needs; and, to support capability building and other corporate initiatives.   


Key Responsibilities

  • Team oversight - including the day-to-day application of organizational policies and procedures, establishing job duties and responsibilities and providing mentoring to achieve optimal effectiveness.  
  • Team management activities - including recruitment and hiring, goal setting, performance reviews, performance management and other related employee-management tasks.
  • Supports the team with the articulation of business requirements for effective user acceptance testing (UAT) of ongoing system releases.
  • Provides guidance with the prioritization of business needs to develop ROI focused intakes that are aligned with corporate strategic goals. 
  • Oversees the development of trends analysis, forecasting models and benchmark statistics used to manage and track key performance indicators within the operations.  
  • Ensures the delivery of operating procedures to support the business process documentation and curriculum building.
  • Provides timely and accurate status updates to the management team, anticipates and quantifies risks and dependencies.
  • Provides analysis and thought leadership around cost optimization, ensuring expenses are controlled for the department. 
  • Manages escalated service and other issues on behalf of the team. 
  • Represents the team at various meetings and holds regularly scheduled team meetings.
  • Collaborates with other team leaders to ensure consistent business practices and processes.

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of operations and project management experience, specifically in the life/health insurance industry and 2 to 3 years leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing projects and deadlines
  • Must have excellent customer service, verbal/written communication, and strong analytical and organizational skills. 
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and are flexible to changing priorities.
  • Microsoft knowledge and strong computer skills are a must.
  • Bilingualism would be considered an asset.
