The Opportunity 


The IT Planning team is growing and we are seeking an innovative Business Analyst to support the IT Demand practice. You will be an innovation catalyst supporting the Corporate Planning process by delivering decision making information outlining technology solutions, their strategic benefits and costs. You will collaborate with the Business and Technology leadership teams to harvest business ideas and problems and cultivate possible technology solutions. Your strong communication, facilitation and analytical skills will be utilized to capture business needs, identify stakeholder impacts, and effectively liaise with colleagues at all levels of the organization. Reporting to the Manager of IT Planning, you will collaborate with engaged and empowered planning professionals to plan and deliver on Medavie’s corporate strategy. 


Key Responsibilities


•    Leads the Business and Technology teams to facilitate and deliver IT assessments to identified business problems or product ideas.
•    Works with the Business to define high level requirements to scope and estimate the Technology cost, duration and resources required to deliver the solution.
•    Lead and facilitate business analysis elicitation activities to clarify, prioritize and document business needs. 
•    Conduct business process gap analysis between current and future states to clarify anticipated changes and inform business case benefits and costs. 
•    Prepares IT estimates (duration and cost) to support Business and Finance in understanding total cost of ownership of the solution. 
•    Establish and maintain communication between Business and Technology to align priority of requests and delivery dates. 
•    Facilitates with Business and IT resource leaders to plan and schedule resources to conduct IT assessments (in alignment with corporate prioritization, dependencies, and resource availability). 
•    Support Business in identify IT dependencies and/or enablers on their departmental planning roadmaps. 
•    Acts as an integral role between Technology and Enterprise Planning and works with all levels of leadership and areas of the Business. 

 

Work Experience: The IT Planning team has diverse professional backgrounds. If you have 5+ years of progressive work in any of the following disciplines you’d be a great fit to join us:

•    Leadership Advisory 
•    Demand and Capacity Management
•    Continuous Process Improvement 
•    Implementation of process, governance and frameworks
