The Medical Authorization Centre (MAC) Pharmacy is responsible for making decisions concerning health needs for products that require authorization.  In this role you will service various contracts and work as a member of an overall medical professional team.  The primary goal of this unit is to provide positive health care outcomes through on-line case assessment using computer technology.

 

In this position you will work various shifts between 6:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. At this time, due to the Pandemic, the work environment may be at home or in the office depending on the current situation.  

 

Key Responsibilities:
 
•    Make decisions concerning clients’ health needs for products that require authorization
•    Administer process for special authorization decisions through the interactive use of telecommunications and applied on-line POS technology
•    Utilize your medical background, knowledge and experience to render decisions
•    Liaison with the customers and other health care professionals to ensure treatment requests are appropriately administered
•    Provide a positive and efficient customer service experience for providers and clients
•    Support positive health care outcomes through on-line case assessment using computer technology


Qualifications:
 
Education: Active Registered Nurse
 
Work Experience: Have practical nursing experience, including knowledge of medical conditions in relationship to pharmaceutical treatment.
 
Other Qualifications: You have excellent negotiation and decision-making skills, are multi-tasked and thrive in a fast-paced environment, have superior verbal communication skills and you are able to work shift work on a rotating basis.
 
Computer Skills: possess strong computer skills or aptitude.
 
Language Skills: Bilingualism (English and French) is required for this role.
