The Opportunity:


The Sales Support Representative, part of the Individual Sales team, is responsible for providing assistance to the Individual Direct Sales Representatives, to provide the highest level of customer service to new and existing clients. The Sales Support Representative has contact with clients and internal departments, in building and maintaining strong relationships with these stakeholders. The Sales Support Representative is responsible for analyzing, researching and taking the initiative for resolving and handling inquiries in a proactive and client focused manner.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the day to day administrative activities of the sales representatives, including follow-up processes as necessary to complete sales process
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers by handling their inquiries in an efficient manner
  • Create and maintain reports to measure sales activities; distribute sales leads as necessary and assign follow up tasks; maintenance of sales records
  • Perform outbound follow-up calls to prospects to maximize sales potential
  • Provide back up support to others on the team as necessary
  • Managing group email, voicemail and fax processes within the sales team
  • Process all departmental incoming mail and fulfill outgoing mail requests
  • Working with external partners to gather required information in support of various lines of business
  • Represent the Direct Sales team in projects, including user acceptance testing (UAT)





Education: Post secondary education in business and/or administration or equivalent work experience.


Work Experience: 2-3 years of relevant work experience in business and/or a support environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and able to prioritize effectively
  • Previous experience working in the insurance industry is considered an asset
  • Able to multi-task effectively; demonstrate agility in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective time management skills


Licensing Requirements


  • Incumbent will be required to pass the LLQP (Life License Qualification Program) and provincial exam within approximately 3 months of hire
  • Must be able to obtain licenses in all 4 Atlantic Provinces as a condition of employment
  • Time will be provided to participate in required course along with appropriate study time to complete provincial exam
  • Must be willing to travel for short duration for LLQP course and completion of provincial exams


Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Email and Internet applications

Language Skills: Bilingualism is a requirement.
