The Opportunity:


Our team is growing! This is an exciting unique opportunity where you will have a direct impact on the employee experience. This specialized role in Career Development reports to the Manager of Organizational Development. As part of a fast paced, dynamic team you will develop Medavie’s approach to career development, create career paths for the organization so employees have the opportunity to grow and develop their careers.


The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive knowledge of Human Resources as well as experience with career development frameworks. Your hands-on style with the ability to roll up your sleeves will make all the difference as you develop and implement this process. Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop Medavie’s approach to career development leveraging best practices and assess potential platforms to leverage
  • Partner with Total Rewards to build a job framework that will categorize roles based on key responsibilities and functional streams
  • Design career paths for key departments to show proposed career progression and competencies required to move both laterally and upward so employees have a clear picture of how they can advance in their career
  • Identify assessment tools that support and guide employees identifying career aspirations and leveraging their strengths
  • Create Department Overviews to increase knowledge and visibility to career opportunities
  • Develop new graduate rotational program that allows graduates to learn and perform in key functional areas of the company to contribute to work that positively impacts Medavie while learning about the organization and growing their experience and skillsets
  • Develop training for leaders to support career development conversations
  • Implement new career development program across the organization and establish key metrics to evaluate success

What You’ll Bring to This Role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field such as Organizational Development or Industrial Psychology with a CPHR as an asset
  • Written and spoken bilingualism (French and English) is a strong asset
  • Minimum 3-4 years experience in HR combined with experience in career development and career management assessments
  • Proficiency in MS-Office is required, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint and experience with on-line surveys and e-learning solutions. 
  • Knowledge of Success Factors talent modules is an asset and ability to leverage Talent Profiles   
  • Customer service and outcome orientation coupled with superior communication – you are clear, concise, and friendly and know how to communicate to different audiences
  • Ability to diagnose problems, identify and drive appropriate solutions to resolve issues
  • High initiative and ability to prioritize and multi-task while meeting tight deadlines
  • Ability to manage key stakeholders to create framework
  • Change management experience in implementing new processes across diverse business units
