Salary: The MINIMUM salary for this position is $58,044 per annum. Starting salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s education, experience, and internal equity

As an Enterprise Risk Analyst at Blue Cross Life Insurance, you will play a significant role on the Capital & Risk Management team in developing, maintaining and executing the Company’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including Risk Identification, Risk Assessment and Monitoring, and Reporting. You will be responsible for supporting the establishment and maintenance of the Company’s Climate Risk Management Framework, including developing risk assessment tools and preparing climate-related financial disclosures as required for regulatory compliance.

 

To thrive in this position, you will have a solid understanding of risk and compliance, strong technical abilities, and an interest in spending the majority of your time writing policies, updating documents, and creating reports.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the execution of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework:

              -    Perform annual risk identification process and maintain the Company’s risk register
              -    Develop scenarios and perform/ prepare results of stress testing 
              -    Perform and incrementally improve annual ORSA report and models
              -    Help identify and monitor emerging risks

  • Support Management in preparing quarterly reports to the Board and its committees, such as:

              -    CRO Report
              -    Risk Dashboard
              -    Stress Testing Report
              -    Risk Identification Report

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the organization’s risk policies and frameworks:

             -    Risk Appetite Framework
             -    Enterprise Risk Management Framework
             -    Other risk management policies

  • Assists in the execution of special Capital and Enterprise Risk projects
  • Help promote awareness of the Company’s Risk Management practices
  • Conduct research and analysis to support the design, implementation and promotion of the Company’s enterprise risk management programs 

 

Skills & Experience

  • University degree in business, finance, accounting, actuarial science, or another closely related field
  • Completion/ progressing towards completing a professional accounting, Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), actuarial or CRM designation
  • 2-3 years' previous experience in a risk or compliance role
  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • High attention to detail, looks beyond the obvious and can solve difficult problems with effective solutions
  • English is requirement, written and verbal, to provide services to our customers and communicate with internal stakeholders

 

Assets

  • Experience in insurance and/or banking 
  • Some experience with modeling, stress testing preferred
  • Bilingual – English & French
