Role 

Reporting to the Director, Total Rewards, this position is part of the Total Rewards COE. This position provides comprehensive support for the total rewards areas of compensation, benefit, pension, wellbeing and HRM systems, which includes the analysis, administration, implementation and COE advisory services for both MHS corporate office and the operating companies. In addition, this position provides continuous support and enhancement of the core HRM system (Workday-benefits) and is the subject matter expert for Medavie Health Services (MHS) in any enterprise wide projects. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee all changes to benefit and pension programs from implementation to go live. This includes, but is not limited to, analysis of changes on cost and employee impact, working with the carriers, communicating with operating companies, drafting communication to employees and understanding any HCM implications.
  • Support the annual compensation cycle (MHS Head Office) for salary and variable pay which includes the business planning process regarding timelines as well as contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction.
  • Contribute to annual salary survey activities as well as analyzing market data, reviewing, and providing recommendations for the development of salary budgets, promotions and salary adjustments. 
  • Work closely with the Total Rewards Team on various compensation projects and programs.
  • Oversee HR technology projects as it relates to process improvement and strategic design of our total reward modules and data governance within Workday.
  • Wellness initiatives for MHS non-union employees including planning, communicating, monitoring.

 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree with specialization in Human Resources Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with administering Group Benefits plans (health, dental, life insurance, LTD, AD&D, optional insurance) Wellness Initiatives and knowledge of Pension Administration (Defined Benefit Pension Plans and Defined Contribution Pension Plans). 
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation and/or Certified Professional Human Resources Professional.
  • Strong project management background and ability to work in an agile environment. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Workday or HRIS experience an asset.
