The Opportunity:


We’re looking for a creative and analytical User Experience (UX) Strategist who can use data and evidence to give our users the content they need, at the time they need it, and in a way that makes sense to them.


As a member of our Digital Experience team, you’ll work with a cross-functional group of UX professionals dedicated to creating meaningful experiences for people. You’ll be responsible for helping audiences understand and use our websites and apps, as well as our products and services, through careful crafting of web copy and UI microcopy. With a strategic and user-focused mindset, you won’t just fill content gaps after a digital product has been designed, but are expected to be deeply involved in the design of the experience itself.


This is not a job writing editorial copy. This is first and foremost a role about collaboration: you’ll work with UX strategists to uncover end user needs, preferences and challenges; with colleagues from across the business to understand content requirements, business objectives and existing narratives; and with UX designers to jointly create the user experience. You’ll review and adapt online copy to ensure it tells our users everything they want and need to know—in a way that’s simple, well-crafted, and meets brand standards. You’ll write clear, concise microcopy for UIs that help people use our digital tools or understand the complex concepts our business entails. And, you’ll help us improve existing content through analysis, testing and iteration.

Your everyday with us will consist of:  


  • Collaborating with colleagues to explore and understand user personas, journeys, opportunities, pain points, wants and needs.
  • Content design for digital products (content outlines, format, structure and flow, and written copy) that meets requirements, aligns with existing business narratives, and contributes to a positive user experience.
  • Crafting succinct, meaningful copy for UIs that help users understand our technology and our business— such as navigational menus, error and success messages, form and button labels, tooltips, onscreen prompts, screen headings, FAQs, and more.
  • Reviewing and adapting existing digital copy for experience consistency and user comprehension while ensuring it meets brand standards and business requirements.
  • Effectively presenting and explaining content design concepts and reasoning to colleagues, and ensuring all appropriate stakeholders have been engaged.
  • Coordinating translation with internal team, helping them understand context and UI limitations.
  • Ensuring online content can be easily found through site hierarchy and navigational analysis, standardizing nomenclature and page structure, etc. Identifying content needs and collaborating with relevant business areas to refresh copy and fill gaps.
  • Analyzing, testing and iterating UI copy using remote usability testing, A/B experimentation, heatmaps, session recordings, and usage metrics.
  • Helping establish UX writing standards, socializing the importance of UX writing, and contributing to central UX writing library.


What you need to succeed:


  • Top-notch writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Three or more years of experience in UI/UX writing, digital content design, or related UX work (portfolio required).
  • Post-secondary degree in English, Journalism, Technical Writing or other relevant field.
  • Thorough understanding of standard UX principles and UX writing techniques.
  • Experience using common web CMS platforms to create and publish web content.
  • Familiarity with user insights/user testing/CRO platforms (e.g. Hotjar, Google Optimize, Userlytics, etc.) is a plus.
  • Well-honed interpersonal skills to negotiate priorities and deliverables, resolve conflicts, and communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Solid organizational skills and a cool head to cope with rapidly changing information, coordinate multiple projects at once, and meet deadlines.
  • Fluency in English, with a basic understanding of French; solid bilingualism is a plus.
